Maureen regales audiences with tales of her upbringing as one of six immaculate conceptions born to Ann, an Irish immigrant and Hugh, a sanitation worker from the Bronx. Langan grew up in Lake Hiawatha, New Jersey, where there is no lake. Maureen’s previous career as a broadcaster is also fodder for her act. She refers to her former station as W-B-O-R-I-N-G. “Being a funny person in a serious newsroom is definitely a recipe for comedy …and unemployment,” says Maureen.
